A Rare Look at How Homes are Auctioned Off in Maricopa County

The statistics are amazing, accoriding to the Arizona Republic. 4,000 homes a month are foreclosed on in Maricopa County. In October of 2009, 1,000 were sold at auction. Almost every day, on the steps of the Maricopa County courthouse, a chaotic auction takes place, sometimes with 4 auctioneers in simultaneous auctions. To someone not use to doing this, the odds of knowing what’s going on are pretty slim. Take a look at this short video taped in 112 degrees in Phoenix, this past April. While we don’t represent buyers at these auctions, if you’re looking for a short sale or foreclosed home from Paradise Vally, to North Scottsdale, Carefree and Cave Creek, call Preston Westmoreland with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty at 602-377-0060.
