S. Korea, Switzerland agree to sign currency swap deal

한-스위스 통화스와프 맺는다 South Korea and Switzerland agreed on a three-year bilateral currency swap deal. The Bank of Korea announced its governor Lee Ju-yeol, will sign an agreement with his counterpart from the Swiss National Bank in Zurich on February 20th. This will allow the two central banks to purchase and repurchase up to 10-point-6 billion U.S. dollars’ worth of Korean won and Swiss francs. Pundits say the deal is expected to enhance financial market stability in the nation by boosting Korea’s liquidity in the event of an economic crisis.
