11.11 sales: China’s annual shopping spree sets new record

Alibaba launched Singles’ Day(11.11, or known as China Black Friday) shopping festival eight years ago. This year’s sales are set to hit a record US$25.3b on its e-commerce platforms. The event attracted more international brands this year and Alibaba integrated the online and offline customer experience in its new retail stores. Alibaba owns the South China Morning Post.
