NFL franchise tag primer: Rules, values, players who could be tagged in 2019

On Tuesday, Feb. 19, the window opens for NFL teams to hit players with franchise or transition tags in 2019. For the most part, players who are candidates to be tagged will be hoping, well, not to be tagged.  Franchise tags are tools that allow NFL teams to keep would-be free agents for one year.
