Trashed Treasures: Syrian historical artifacts destroyed or smuggled abroad

Islamic state militants in Syria have seized part of the last government air base in the eastern province bordering Iraq. The Syrian government now faces losing an important hub for warplanes used to target ISIS-held towns. Syria has had to get used to loss during the ongoing civil war that’s claimed 200,000 lives. And as RT’s Maria Finoshina discovered, irreplacable historical treasures have also fallen victim. RT LIVE Subscribe to RT! ‘Heritage Not Hate’: People in Georgia bring back confederate flag after ban imposed

It may be a symbol from a civil war fought long ago, but the Confederate flag still casts a lon shadow over the southern US states. In South Carolina last week it was removed from a pole next to the State House, a move which led to a strong reaction. RT’s Maria Finoshina is travelling through the southern states to see what issues are concerning people there. And on her stop in Georgia, she found a ban on the confederate flag may actually be having the opposite effect to the one intended. RT LIVE Subscribe to RT! How Practical is a Real $3,000 Iron Man Suit?

In this video I test the practicality of a $3,000 Iron Man suit by putting it to the test against various everyday activities. Watch as I don the Iron man suit (it took two hours!) and then try to open doors, go up stairs, run, play basketball, and even try to kiss (if Spiderman can do it why not Iron Man?). Thanks to my brother for letting me try his suit! Checkout their Kids Try channel here: https:// WARNING: This video is for entertainment purposes only. The Cannibal Generals of Liberia

Full length now on YouTube: Cannibalism, murder and rape are just a part of everyday life in certain regions of Liberia. Despite the United Nation’s eventual intervention, most of this country’s young people continue to live in abject poverty, surrounded by filth, drug addiction, and teenage prostitution. In 2009, we went to Liberia to rummage through the messy remains of a country ravaged by 14 years of civil war. UPDATE: Charles G. Taylor, former President of Liberia and warlord, has been convicted by an international tribunal of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including rape, murder, and the use of child soldiers. He is the first head of state to be found guilty by an international court since the Nuremberg trials. Hosted by Shane Smith | Or

The White Helmets: As Syria Death Toll Mounts, Meet the Rescue Workers Saving Thousands of Lives

– In Syria, renewed bombing has reportedly killed more than 150 people this week in rebel-controlled Aleppo. On Wednesday, at least 15 people died after airstrikes hit East Aleppo’s biggest market. Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports at least four children were killed and 10 wounded earlier today when shells landed near a school in western Aleppo, the area controlled by the government. On Wednesday, Pope Francis issued what has been described as his strongest appeal to date for an end to the fighting in Syria. We turn now to look at a group in Syria known as the Syrian Civil Defense, or the White Helmets. The group of some 3,000 volunteers has been credited with saving over 60,000 people from the rubble of buildings in war-torn Syria. Last
