North Korea: The art of surviving sanctions

CBSN Originals travels across three continents tracing a little-known revenue stream sought by North Korea, in which artistic propaganda helps them circumvent sanctions and keep foreign money flowing. CBSN travels to Africa, where North Korea’s Mansudae art machine sends workers to install massive monuments and dictatorial palaces. We visit Florence, home of the Renaissance, where dealers have found a lucrative market for North Korean artworks made in a government-run studio and see how calculated cultivations of goodwill have afforded the regime crafty avenues to generate cash. President of Liberland on taxes, less government and a free Europe

Welcome to Liberland. A tiny patch of land in Europe that claims to be the world’s newest country. They have a President, a flag, and even an anthem. The pocket sized nation popped up in April and 350,000 people are said to have applied for citizenship.
