The world is in the middle of the most serious refugee crisis since the Second World War. Now is the time to Stand as One: po.st/sao When photojournalist Sam Tarling moved to Beirut seven years ago, Syria was a place to visit for a weekend. It was impossible then to think that a few years later he would be working in deserted cities and informal settlements, documenting the lives of some of the estimated two million Syrians who have fled from the war in their country. He has covered the story almost eighty times since 2011, taking well over fifty thousand photos. Here are a few of them, along with his thoughts about the conflict and his work.
