Sinclair to buy 21 of Disney sports channels

Nearly one year after the U.S. Department of Justice ordered Disney to sell off 22 Fox regional sports networks as a provision of its Fox deal, Disney has successfully unloaded the full package, and the winner is Sinclair Broadcasting Group. According to the Wall Street Journal, Disney and Sinclair have reached a deal for all 21 channels, with a price tag of $10 billion. That’s far cheaper than the $15 billion to $25 billion range most analysts had predicted Disney could get; Guggenheim Partners had valued the portfolio at $25 billion. This deal, when official, will be the third sports TV move Sinclair has made in a short time. In March, Sinclair joined Blackstone and Amazon in backing the New York Yankees’ $3 billion re-purchase of the 80% of YES Network the team had sold to Fox in

A world in change: The China-Russia connection

From energy to trade to regional security, China and Russia have had win-win cooperation, including big-ticket infrastructure projects and joint military drills. China has been Russia’s biggest trade partner, with recently signing deals in e-commerce and 5G network. They also found common ground on foreign policy, with China and Russia jointly supporting a multilateral world and a rules-based international order. The friendship between President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin stands out among world leaders, having met some 30 times over the last six years, and they encourage more people-to-people exchanges between their countries. In a fluid geopolitical environment, could a shared vision take China and Russia down the path of global stability and prosperity? Subscribe to us on Y

Trump Forces His Aides To Lie About His Poll Numbers When They Are Low

â-ºTitle: â-ºSummary: Confronted with abysmal poll numbers in key 2020 states, Trump demanded his aides follow his example: Deny and lie. According to a New York Times report, after internal polling conducted in May showed him trailing some Democratic contenders in states like Texas, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, Trump ordered his aides to deny any such data existed. But when the polling inevitably leaked, Trump “instructed aides to say publicly that other data showed him doing well,” reports the Times. Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale appeared to follow through on Trump’s command to mislead the public. A day after news stories ran about the leaked internal polling that showed Trump struggling in key midwest states, Parscale spun the results on Twitter, claiming media outlets â€
