Chinese Consumers Prefer “Made in USA” Label Too, Report Reveals

For shoppers in the US, finding the label “Made in China” has become something all too common. Global manufacturers have flocked to the country to take advantage of the low labor costs and lax regulatory control. Now a study by a US-based group has found that Chinese consumers may prefer things made in the US. According to the Boston Consulting Group, 61% of Chinese shoppers they polled would pay more money for a product made in America. That’s because locals have become wary of quality issues in a range of products made at home, and they are willing to shell out more money for something they feel safer with.
